In memory of Michael Joseph Jackson, born August 29 1958, a American recording artist and entertainer. The seventh child of the Jackson Family, he debuted on the professional music scene at the age of 11 as a member of The Jackson 5 and began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group. Referred to as the "King of Pop" in subsequent years.

Michael Jackson, the top artist and legend, died early this morning.

I can't believe that Michael, the idol of so many, has passed on. Maybe he'll rise again on the third day, like Jesus in the Bible. Maybe it's a hoax. A vain hope. All radio stations and news websites have dedicated today to MJ.

I wrote a short prayer for him. Please, for once, forget your religious beliefs, whether you're Christian, Buddhist, Catholic, Hindu, Muslim, forward this, via email, blog, twitter, sms etc. For him.

Dear God, please keep Michael Jackson safe in heaven with you. He has given so much to the world, and we wish that we could give equally as much. The people have destroyed him, adding to the stress. Nobody seems to know how to appreciate someone when he is alive, but only go to him for his money. We hope that this will stop.

RIP Michael Jackson
